What the Adaptogen Energy Blend by Fushi contains:

  • The medicinal mushrooms in this blend consist of Cordyceps Sinesis and Chaga.
Cordyceps is used in traditional Chinese medicine to enhance performance and energy. It also helps improve brain function and the immune system. Chaga, also known as the “mushroom of immortality”, has been used for centuries in Siberia and other parts of Asia. It has strong antioxidant properties, supports the immune system, and is highly alkalising. Chaga is highly regarded as an adaptogen - which can help the body adapt to and manage stress.
  • Ashwagandha and Rhodiola are both adaptogens that may help eliminate stress on the body.
Both significantly aid the body with stress, anxiety, and insomnia, bringing balance to the body.
  • Korean Ginseng is another adaptogen that acts as a mild stimulant for both body and mind. It provides at least 4% ginsenosides, which are the active components of ginseng, and contributes to physical and mental well-being while supporting the immune system and the body's natural defences.
  • Maca,Known also as Peruvian ginseng, this root vegetable from Peru is a complete protein containing essential nutrients. It is an adaptogen known to support the adrenal glands during times of stress, enhance energy levels, and strengthen the immune system. It is also renowned for its fertility-boosting properties and hormone-balancing support.
  • Vitamin B12 contributes to normal energy metabolism and the reduction of fatigue and exhaustion. It also supports normal nervous and immune system function and contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells.

The Fushi mushroom adaptogen blend is a 100% natural formulation with no added unnecessary ingredients.
Thanks to the calming properties in the blend, it is ideal to consume in the evening before bed to ensure a peaceful night's sleep.

About Adaptogens:

The term adaptogen is a concept from alternative medicine that refers to a plant product that increases the body's resistance to stressful situations, such as injury, anxiety, or physical fatigue; they enhance the ability to withstand changed conditions (to adapt to them, to adjust). They maintain the balance of hormones and the immune system.

These medicinal herbs have been used for thousands of years in Chinese and Ayurvedic traditional culture.
They can survive in inhospitable conditions such as frost, drought, and high altitudes where other organisms would not survive. This property is then induced in the human body – improving its resilience to changing conditions and helping the body adapt. They have a beneficial effect on managing stressful situations, anxiety, injuries, or physical exertion.

Adaptogens are natural substances that enhance the ability to overcome stress and are harmless. In practice, these are mainly medicinal plants and fungi.

Adaptogens are known for facilitating the adaptation process. Adaptation is a key concept in theoretical medicine. We talk about adaptation when the body adjusts to stress. As long as we manage the burden, we remain well. If the burden exceeds our adaptive range, the result will be illness leading to death. Adaptogens facilitate adaptation by expanding the adaptive range. In other words, they treat not only illness but also health.

As the name suggests, they help adapt to non-standard conditions in which a person finds themselves. These non-standard situations refer to stressful situations. Stress occurs in a wide range of situations. Originally, at the dawn of human history, stress served a useful function. In this way, it is assumed that adaptogens support homeostasis and help build psychological and physiological resilience against stress and fatigue.

Health is threatened by various types of stress: cold, heat, physical (work, sport ...), psychological, chemical (liver, kidneys, brain ...), oxidative, radiation, infectious ... stress is generally stress. However, in our context, the word stress is mostly used in the narrower sense of mental stress. During this time, attack and escape hormones (adrenaline, noradrenaline) are released into the body, followed by the stress hormone cortisol.

In medical herbalism, David Hoffman notes that the science of adaptogenic mechanisms supports their relationship to the "hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis" and that "their ability to 'smooth out' the body's stress response may be related to the effects of adaptogens on glucose metabolism... [however] the specific mechanism of adaptogenic activity has not yet been clarified." We can assume that by supporting the adrenal glands, which aid in regulating stress hormones, including cortisol.

Another important aspect of adaptogens, as their name suggests, is their ability to adapt to the body's needs and bring the body back into balance "regardless of the direction of imbalance.

Regular use of adaptogens also slows ageing, protects the liver, and through several mechanisms combats other significant lifestyle diseases such as hypertension. Part of the miraculous effects of natural adaptogens can also be attributed to the fact that our modern diet is generally far removed from a natural, varied diet full of plant secondary metabolites, which also helps herbs achieve such significant effects.

The compelling fact about adaptogenic plants is that they often thrive in stressful conditions, possessing their own adaptive strengths and abilities, which they impart to us. For instance, ashwagandha, a popular adaptogen in Ayurveda, is highly drought-resistant and flourishes in dry conditions and poor soil, environments where most plants would suffer severe stress.

In other words, adaptogens enhance our adaptation to stress.

Adapting during mentally challenging times can be extremely demanding for our bodies. This is where adaptogens come into play. A group of plants that help us adjust to stress, increase resilience, and support vitality and mental health. Adaptogens assist precisely where our body needs it most, providing energy in just the right amount that our body demands.

Today, many alternative, complementary, and holistic doctors prescribe adaptogens to their patients and clients to help their bodies maintain or regain balance during times of internal or external stress.

What Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine say:

It cannot be overstated that for millennia, people have relied on plants as both food and medicine.

Chinese medicine and Ayurveda have depended on herbal remedies for healing and rejuvenation since their inception. However, in the West, much of the wisdom and efficacy of plants have been limited.
Adaptogens have been used for centuries in Indian Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to treat numerous diseases and health conditions. Take one famous adaptogen: ginseng. TCM attributes this plant with powerful energy and sexual stimulating effects

Another important aspect of adaptogens, as their name suggests, is their ability to adapt to the body's needs and bring it back into balance regardless of the direction of imbalance.

Adapting during mentally challenging periods can be extremely demanding for our body. This is precisely when adaptogens come into play. A group of plants that help us adjust to stress, increase the body's resilience, and support vitality and mental health. What an Adaptogen must meet:

Must be non-specific, meaning they help the body defend against a range of physical, chemical, and biological stressors.
They must have minimal adverse effects on the physiological functions of the body.
They should enhance the body's resistance to adverse influences not through specific effects, but via a wide range of physical, chemical, and biochemical factors.
They must have an overall normalising effect, improving all conditions and worsening none.

Adaptogens must support homeostasis or balance within the human body. The essence here is that the human body possesses great wisdom and can handle most challenges with precision and elegance - provided it has full access to its healing potential. Through the effects of environmental and emotional stressors, adaptogens fully unlock the body's healing potential to face these challenges.

Must not cause harm or damage to normal human bodily functions. Unlike medicines, which often trigger negative side effects and can create a myriad of new problems even while managing existing ones, adaptogens must fundamentally strengthen the body and better respond to a wide range of threats without weakening or compromising its core systems.

The ideal adaptogen significantly increases adaptive range without unilateral effects. True adaptogens closely align with this ideal. Some protect the liver more, others safeguard blood vessels, and some suppress inflammation and allergies. A classic effect of adaptogens is their impact on stress and stress hormones. Their effect on the nervous system is both stimulating and calming. Adaptogens typically have a dual opposing effect on physiological parameters, allowing them to stabilise these parameters and thus enhance health. They should not have unilateral effects on physiological parameters in healthy individuals and must not be toxic or considered cocaine-based stimulants.
