Accessibility Statement

Last updated 2026-08-25

Our commitment to accessibility

Luxsense s.r.o. is committed to making the Liviny website (liviny.cz) accessible to the widest possible range of users, including people with disabilities. We pursue this commitment in line with EU Directive 2019/882 (the European Accessibility Act) and Czech Act No. 99/2019 Coll. on the accessibility of websites and applications.

Scope of this statement

This statement applies to the entire liviny.cz website in all language versions (Czech, Slovak, English, German) — including the shopping cart, checkout, payment return pages, and customer account. We list these parts explicitly because they are the flows where customers enter personal data and pay; an earlier version of this statement did not name them specifically.

This statement does not cover third-party content that is not under our control (see “Content outside the scope of applicable regulations” below).

Compliance status

The liviny.cz website is partially compliant with the European standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), level AA — the level required by the European Accessibility Act (EU Directive 2019/882, in force since 28 June 2025) for key digital products and services, including e-commerce. “Partially compliant” means that we meet most, but not all, of the level AA requirements; the specific unmet points are listed below.

We do not claim full compliance and we do not claim level AAA. Beyond the mandatory level AA, we also track newer WCAG 2.2 criteria (for example, the size of touch targets), but we do not yet declare compliance with those either — where we do not meet them, we say so.

Inaccessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

Non-compliance with EN 301 549 / WCAG level AA

  • Hover contrast (WCAG 1.4.3, level AA)for some of the gold-coloured links and icons, the colour briefly lightens to roughly a 3:1 ratio the moment you hover over them with a mouse, while the standard requires 4.5:1 for small text. In its default state (i.e. as you are reading the text before hovering over it), the contrast is compliant — with the sole exception of the text over photographs in the banner, listed separately below. Unifying the colour for this transient hover state as well requires a visual-design change, so we are handling it separately.
  • Text over photographs in the main banner (WCAG 1.4.3, level AA)the heading on the homepage is rendered directly over a photograph. Depending on the chosen image and colour scheme, we cannot guarantee a 4.5:1 ratio; for darker schemes we underlay the text with a darkening gradient, while for the variant without that overlay, legibility depends on there being a calm area in the photograph. We do not yet measure this contrast automatically — it is the only place where the default (not just a transient) state may fail to meet the standard.
  • Checkout error messages (WCAG 3.3.1, level A)checkout fields already announce to screen readers that they are filled in incorrectly (they carry an “invalid value” flag), but the error text itself is shown by the browser in its own native bubble. We do not yet have a persistent error message tied directly to the field, the way login, registration, and password reset already do. We are planning to add this.
  • Touch-target size on desktop (WCAG 2.5.8, a criterion new in version 2.2)some icons in the header have an area smaller than 24×24 px on desktop. On mobile, the area is 44×44 px, which is compliant.
  • Page language (WCAG 3.1.1, level A)on the website's non-Czech language versions, the page's declared language is only set correctly after scripts have loaded. Without JavaScript enabled, a screen reader may read non-Czech content using Czech pronunciation.

We intend to remove these deficiencies gradually, prioritised by customer impact. We are not yet promising a specific date for individual points — rather than a date we might miss, we prefer to report an honest status.

What we have verified and what is in order

We have tested the following points and we meet them. We list them because an earlier version of this statement admitted non-compliance for them, even though they had already been resolved.

  • Reduced motionall animations respect the system-level “reduce motion” setting (`prefers-reduced-motion`); handled globally, not component by component.
  • Contrast of regular textsecondary and supplementary text meets a ratio of 4.5:1 or higher.
  • Zoom and reflow (WCAG 1.4.4 and 1.4.10)content reflows correctly even when narrowed to 320 px, which corresponds to 400% zoom; verified by an automated test that runs on every change to the website.
  • Alt text for product photographsadded for all active products.
  • Keyboard operabilitythe cart, search, filters, pickup-point selection, and the photo gallery can all be operated by keyboard, have a visible focus indicator, and close with the Escape key.

Content outside the scope of applicable regulations

  • Third parties (e.g. embedded DPD delivery-tracking widgets, external payment gateways) are not under our direct control. We try to choose partners who take accessibility seriously.
  • Older, archived blog articles uploaded before the new website launched may contain images without alt text. We are adding it gradually.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on the basis of a self-evaluation carried out by the provider on 2026-07-13. The evaluation combines automated testing (axe-core against WCAG 2.2 AA criteria on the homepage, product detail page, product listing, cart, checkout, payment return pages, the care advisor, and the customer account, login, and registration pages — run on every change to the website), an automated check of gold-colour contrast, and a manual review of keyboard operability. Automated tests do not run on mobile browsers and do not catch everything — so we plan to commission a formal external accessibility audit and will update this statement once it is complete.

Feedback and contact details

If you come across content on our website that is not accessible, or if you have suggestions for improving accessibility, please contact us:

We respond to feedback within 7 business days. If a specific fix is technically feasible, we will include it in the next suitable release.

Procedure in case of an unsatisfactory response

If you receive an unsatisfactory response to an accessibility complaint, you may contact the supervisory authority — the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI) — which, under Czech Act No. 424/2023 Coll. (§ 19) on accessibility requirements for certain products and services, oversees the accessibility of e-commerce services in the Czech Republic.

A complaint can be submitted through the ČOI's filing office: coi.gov.cz/podatelna
