Liposomal Vitamin D3 5000 IU

Liposomal Vitamin D3 supports your health by being better absorbed than traditional capsules or tablets. It offers significantly improved bioavailability. The molecules of Vitamin D3 are encapsulated in protective nano-sized liposomes, which help bypass digestive barriers, protect Vitamin D3 from destruction, and deliver Vitamin D3 directly to your cells via the bloodstream.

Low levels of Vitamin D cause depression, fatigue, and muscle weakness. Over time, a deficiency in Vitamin D can lead to weak bones, rickets in children, and osteoporosis in adults. Not only that, Vitamin D is responsible for regulating more than 2000 genes in the body. Vitamin D ensures very complex metabolic processes. Research suggests that up to 85% of people could suffer from a Vitamin D deficiency without knowing it.

The Importance of Vitamin D3

  • Contributes to normal absorption/utilisation of calcium and phosphorus.
  • Adequate amounts of Vitamin D can help maintain the healthy functioning of the immune and respiratory systems.
  • Together with a healthy diet and exercise, Vitamin D can aid the natural formation of cells in the body.
  • A key nutrient for maintaining the proper condition of bones and teeth.

Description

Liposomal Vitamin D3 5000 IU - Dr. Mercola

Liposomal Vitamin D3 is encapsulated in protective Licaps capsules instead of oxygen-permeable soft gels:

This exclusive liposomal Vitamin D3 contains phospholipids from sunflower lecithin, which aid absorption. Evidence suggests that when mixed with water, similar to the digestive tract, these phospholipids form liposomes that can help the nutrient pass through the intestinal membrane to target organs and cells*.

  • Contains phospholipids from sunflower lecithin, which help protect cell membranes and aid in liposome formation in the stomach.* My sunflower lecithin is free from aflatoxin, a harmful carcinogen that can grow on sunflower seeds if stored improperly.
  • Facilitates the formation of liposomes in the body that encase many Vitamin D3 molecules, enhancing its bioavailability potential.
  • Delivers Vitamin D3 in a high-quality, tightly sealed Licaps capsule, which may be superior to other oral delivery systems in terms of leak protection.
  • Sourced from a world-leading manufacturer with over a century of experience and innovative delivery technologies.
  • Provides a convenient and effective way to help you obtain the Vitamin D3 your body needs.
  • Contains no soy or bioengineered ingredients.
  • Available in three dosage sizes, 1,000 IU, 5,000 IU, and 10,000 IU per capsule, to suit your individual needs.
  • My 1,000 IU liposomal Vitamin D3 is an excellent choice for children aged 4 and up and adults who obtain Vitamin D3 from other supplements, such as my Whole-Food Multivitamin Plus Vital Minerals.

Liposomal Vitamin D3 Absorption

You may have heard of a new technology called liposomal, used to enhance nutrient absorption. It naturally occurs in krill oil. Omega-3 fats are bound to phospholipids, which dramatically increase absorption compared to fish oil.

Similarly, we can now mimic this process in the intestines to improve nutrient absorption.

Thanks to liposomal technology, phospholipids in the capsule can form liposomes in the stomach. Studies show that water movement is enough to create some liposomes. The stomach is a high-tension environment, with gastric fluids almost constantly in motion, which could create even more liposomes. Since liposomes can help nutrients pass through the intestinal membrane to target organs and cells, more liposomes could lead to increased absorption rates.

Licaps Technology:

Most Vitamin D sold today is packaged in soft gels. Unfortunately, soft gels cannot protect the nutrients inside from moisture and oxygen. When moisture and oxygen seep into the soft gel, you can lose quality and freshness.

Dr. Mercola's Liposomal Vitamin D uses more expensive Licaps capsules instead of cheaper soft gels. Licaps uses innovative "Fusion Technology" to seal the capsule without using bands.

This exceptional liquid capsule technology has been rigorously tested for over 15 years and offers many beneficial advantages:

Reduces oxidation potential by flushing the liquid formulation with nitrogen during the capsule filling process, creating a "bubble" ensuring freshness.
The two-piece capsules are hermetically sealed, creating a tight one-piece capsule that significantly reduces the chance of leakage.
Exemplary filling and sealing processes ensure extended shelf life.
The bottom line with Licaps capsules: the chance of leakage is virtually reduced to zero.

Vitamin D Deficiency - Who is at Risk?

Vitamin D intake from the sun is an individual matter. Roughly, we can say that 15-20 minutes of full-body exposure in July provides about 15,000 IU of Vitamin D (people with dark skin need twice the time).

Sunbathing can be significantly risky for many people (for those with fair skin, little pigment, and resulting in sunburn). Sunbathing is about timing and estimating possibilities.

Given the extensive effects of Vitamin D in the body, when addressing any health issues, especially those mentioned above, always check if you lack this key nutrient. If you are deficient in Vitamin D, we recommend a stronger dose of 5000IU to help normalize Vitamin D levels, and then continue with a maintenance dose of 1000IU.

Certain groups may be at increased risk of Vitamin D deficiency, as well as individuals with some specific conditions. If any of the following cases apply to you, have your Vitamin D levels checked as soon as possible.

  1. It's winter and you don't live in the tropics or subtropics.
If you don't live in the tropics or subtropics, the earth simply doesn't receive enough UVB radiation in winter, or even none at all, and it's through UVB radiation that your body naturally produces most of the needed Vitamin D.
  2. You have darker skin.
People with darker skin may need up to ten times more sunlight to produce the same amount of Vitamin D as those with fair skin.
  3. You are 50 years old or older.
As you age, your skin produces less Vitamin D when exposed to sunlight.
  4. You spend a lot of time indoors.
If you avoid the sun or simply cannot go outside regularly, your vitamin D levels are likely to be lower.
  5. You are overweight or obese (or have higher muscle mass).
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin and resembles hormones, so body fat can act like a sponge. Heavier individuals with more body fat or even those with higher muscle mass may require a higher dose than leaner individuals.
  6. You have intestinal issues.
If you have digestive problems affecting your ability to absorb fats, you may have lower absorption of vitamin D.
  7. You are achy or tired, or both.
Classic symptoms of a certain type of vitamin D deficiency can mimic conditions characterised by fatigue and bone pain.
  8. You are pregnant.
Pregnant women need higher amounts of vitamin D for their own pregnancy and childbirth, as well as for the optimal health of their children.
  9. You notice unusual head sweating.
One of the first signs of vitamin D deficiency is surprisingly a sweaty head.

Usage

We recommend determining vitamin D levels in a laboratory (the cost is 1,463 CZK excluding VAT) before starting supplementation.

Recommended dosage according to legislation: Take 1 capsule weekly - the dosage according to Czech legislation differs significantly from the dosage recommended by the manufacturer.

Recommended dosage according to the manufacturer: If your tests are currently below the recommended range of 40 to 60 ng/ml, you may need a substantial dose of vitamin D3 to quickly reach the optimal range. In this case, I recommend taking a dose of 10,000 IU every day. You can use this level of dosing for short-term use for additional immune system support and then continue with a maintenance dose of 1000 IU.

Each capsule contains a high dose of vitamin D, 125 mcg or 5000 IU.
