The story and signature behind the brand
Caring for your body extends beyond cosmetics. With the things we use every day or every month, it makes sense to understand what they are made from. Natracare brings this approach to period and intimate care, with a focus on clear material choices and comfort.
The British brand began in 1989. Susie Hewson wanted a different approach to disposable period products and developed organic cotton tampons. That original idea gradually grew into a range of pads, panty liners and wipes.
Natracare pads and panty liners have certified organic cotton covers next to the skin. Cellulose forms the absorbent core, while the leakproof layer uses a plant starch biopolymer instead of petroleum-based plastic. Each pad is a considered combination of materials rather than being made entirely from cotton. Pads and liners contain no added fragrance or dyes.
Respect for people and nature also shapes the brand beyond its products. Natracare is certified vegan by the Vegetarian Society, and the company is a certified B Corp. Through 1% for the Planet, it gives 1% of its turnover to environmental organisations. Bodywise (UK) Ltd, the company behind the brand, is now held in a trust for the benefit of its employees.
